Learning at Work Day
20th May 2010
At Flybe we encourage our employees to explore a variety of learning techniques. We believe people learn best when they have access to formal and informal learning methods.
On the 20th May Flybe employees took part in the following activities:
30 minute taster sessions - Flybe Training provided employees with skills that could be transferred into the workplace. The sessions included how to improve your assertiveness, time management, telephone techniques and how to give feedback that works.
Flybe's Got Talent - Flybe Training invited employees to pass on their skills, interests and knowledge to others in a session lasting from 0-15 minutes, or 15-30 minutes. The sessions were as diverse as dog training, square dancing, French and sign language. We also had one of our employees conducting a 1 hour session on how to eliminate stress and find inner peace through the use of meditation, Tai chi and Qigong techniques.
Company quiz - Flybe Training conducted a company-wide quiz encouraging employees to learn more about Flybe, its competitors and the aviation industry. There was also a mystery prize for the winning team!
Access to learning is at the top of Flybe's agenda and we have an open approach to new and innovative ideas.
