Pilot & Simulator Training

Flybe is an approved TRTO for the Dash-8 Q400 and Embraer 170/190 series. The Flybe Training Academy offers courses delivered by highly skilled flight deck instructors who have a wealth of experience between them. We offer aircraft conversion courses in addition to recurrent training and checking.

 

Our brand new training facility based at Exeter International Airport opened earlier this year and includes a Dash-8 Q400 simulator with an E-Jet simulator available from early 2012.

Locations

All ground school training is completed at our Training Academy located at Exeter International Airport, UK.

Our Dash-8 Q400 and E-Jet Level D Full Flight Simulators are available for both wet and dry lease (E-Jet from March 2012).

Pilot training

Type Rating Courses

Type rating courses include 13 days of ground school covering aircraft systems and procedures, including performance, loading and lo-vis operations and 10 four hour full flight simulator sessions incorporating the Licence Skills Test and Lo-Vis Ops. Aircraft Circuit Training as required.

This training is available to qualified, professional pilots with JAA (or equivalent) ATPL including MCC and JOC, flying on behalf of airline operators only.


Aircraft Base (Circuit) Training

Aircraft Base (Circuit) Training is available on both the Bombardier Dash-8 Q400 and Embraer E-Jet aircraft and covers take-off and landing training in real aircraft as required - usually 4/6 landings - for completion of the Type Rating.

This training is available to qualified, professional pilots with JAA (or equivalent) ATPL including MCC and JOC, flying on behalf of airline operators only.


Line Training (Line Experience Flying)

Line Training (Line Experience Flying) is available on both the Bombardier Dash-8 Q400 and Embraer E-Jet aircraft following the issue of an aircraft Type Rating. Training takes place on the Flybe route network under the supervision of a Flybe Training Captain and the number/type of sectors flown are as per customer requirements.

This training is available to qualified, professional pilots with JAA (or equivalent) ATPL including MCC and JOC, flying on behalf of airline operators only.
